Leveling plates are wood plates used to level the bottom of your cabinet with the cabinet front lip, so the slideout shelf can be properly installed to roll out above cabinet front lip. In most cabinets, the front lip is less than 1/4 inch higher than the base of the cabinet, if that’s the case in your cabinet then yes you will need leveling plates. See How-To Measure video for more info. Leveling plates will be included in any bottom slideout purchase.

What is half shelf wood? Do I need them?

Wood used to support the front mounting brackets of a slideout shelf. Slideout shelves are bottom mounted and rest on a shelf for structural support. Most cabinets don’t have full shelves, rather they only have a tiny half shelf in the middle/upper region of your base cabinet, if that’s the case you will need to purchase half shelf wood. What are hinges? How do I measure around them?

A hinge is the hardware holding the door to the cabinet, that helps it to open and close. You want to measure between hinges to ensure your bottom slideout shelf is able to fully extend out of the cabinet. If you fail to measure between hinges, you run the risk of your slideout shelf being slightly larger than what will fit/roll out of your cabinet. Measure the width between left and right hinge for proper slideout width.
