So we just finished installing your custom slide out shelves – wow! Don’t they look amazing? Aren’t you excited for all this new storage? But first you have to organize them because right now those pull out shelves are empty and boy oh boy that’s an intimidating task!

Our team can help! We have some popular suggestions to help you get your kitchen reorganized with both function and aesthetics in mind! We want your slide out shelves to be functional, user-friendly, improve your cooking experience and it should look nice and neat so you can find everything you need when you need it!

Let’s outline some tips we recommend for how to prepare for your slide out shelf install. Let’s organize your new pull out shelves!

3 simple tips to get your new slide out shelves organized:

  1. Plan
    1. As the saying goes, ‘fail to plan, plan to fail’ – so let’s make a plan!
    2. Map your kitchen out with stations in mind and then place the items you use in those stations near those cabinets
    3. For example, if you bake at a certain spot – place all baking bowls and baking essentials near that cabinet; for your cooking station (near cooktop) – place your pots, pans, lids, etc near the cooking cabinet
    4. This mapping plan helps to store cooking essentials near where they’re used most – to improve your functioning and make accessibility top of mind
  2. Strategically reorganize
    1. With our plan in place, you can start to fill your slide out shelves
    2. We recommend frequently used items in the front of your slide outs – the reason being some times you won’t want to pull the Slideout shelf fully out of your cabinet. So to minimize the amount of times you’ll have to fully extend your pull out shelf we suggest common, everyday items stored in the front
    3. Then of course your less used, seasonal, holiday related items in the back of each Slideout
    4. Other storage ideas include stacking like items (measuring cups, mixing bowls, Pyrex, etc)
    5. Cookie sheets, muffin tins, cutting boards, etc are all best stored vertical next to one another – we recommend our custom above divider or custom pull out divider
    6. Tupperware – what a storage headache!  – we have 2 approaches:
      1. stack containers in piles and lids in piles, next to eachother
      2. stack each container with it’s lid attached for easy grabbing
  3. Share your experience
    1. Now that you have all your kitchen essentials stored away, nice and neat – it’s time to relax! (until dinner time at least)
    2. Please leave us a review or share your experience with a friend/neighbor
    3. Word of mouth is one of the most helpful tools for a small family owned and operated business and it’s free!
