Hi! We are Chez and Whitney Sarnella, founders of The Shelf King. The Shelf King has been a family owned and operated business and we aim to keep that small-town mindset as we grow. The Shelf King was founded in 2012 in Austin, Texas, under the original name of Discount Shelves that Slide. Since its 2020 rebranding and adoption of the name The Shelf King, the business and its founders have been dedicated to growing and serving their community properly.

The founders, Chez and Whitney, launched into this niche industry with a very focused purpose as they have one parent with MS and another with Parkinson’s. They were seeing firsthand their parents struggling to function in their kitchens and it inspired them to want to help homeowners function with ease in their homes by gaining easy access and better utilization of their storage spaces. They wanted to design high-quality slide-out drawer solutions that eliminate those everyday frustrations they were seeing on their parents faces because everyone deserves to function in their own home.
