As we continue to expand, we’re looking for dependable, detail-oriented individuals to join our installation and assembly team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in quality craftsmanship, and values the flexibility of working independently.
This position includes two primary responsibilities: installing custom pull-out shelves in customers’ homes and assembling drawer hardware at our Dripping Springs facility.
We are open to hiring one individual to fulfill both responsibilities or two individuals to specialize in installation and assembly separately.
Position Responsibilities
Custom Shelf Installation
- Professionally install custom pull-out shelving systems in residential cabinets.
- Ensure each installation meets The Shelf King’s standards for quality, functionality, and craftsmanship.
- Provide a professional, courteous experience while working in customers’ homes.
- Maintain company tools, equipment, and installation materials.
- Travel to scheduled customer installations using a company-provided truck.
Compensation: $200 per completed installation
Typical Workload: Approximately 5 installations per week
Installation Time: Most projects take approximately 1–3 hours, with opportunities to complete multiple installations in a single day.
Drawer Assembly & Preparation
- Assemble custom drawer boxes by attaching drawer slides, rails, mounting brackets, and additional hardware.
- Inspect completed assemblies for accuracy, quality, and proper functionality.
- Organize and prepare completed drawers for scheduled installations.
- Maintain an efficient, clean, and organized workspace.
Compensation: $4 per completed drawer
Typical Workload: Approximately 120 drawers per week
Work Location: The Shelf King facility in Dripping Springs, Texas.

Earning estimates are based on current average work volumes and assume 52 weeks of completed work annually. Actual earnings vary based on available projects, completed installations, assembly volume, and scheduling. Compensation is performance-based and is not a guaranteed salary. Combined earning estimates apply to individuals performing both responsibilities.
Qualifications & Skills
We’re looking for individuals who demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and a strong commitment to quality.
Preferred qualifications include:
- Previous experience in cabinetry, carpentry, woodworking, installation, or general handyman services.
- Proficiency with hand tools and power tools.
- Familiarity with cabinet hardware, drawer slides, hinges, and related installation components.
- Strong measuring skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to troubleshoot installation challenges and work independently.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Professional communication and customer service skills.
- Reliable transportation to our Dripping Springs facility.
Candidates with relevant hands-on experience and a willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.
Work Location & Scheduling
Primary Location: Dripping Springs, Texas
Installation Service Areas: Primarily Georgetown, San Antonio, and surrounding communities.
Travel Requirements: Installation days may involve approximately 4–5 hours of driving, depending on scheduled appointments and locations. A company truck is provided for installation-related travel.
Schedule: Flexible, part-time opportunities with scheduling based on installation appointments and assembly requirements. Multiple installations may be scheduled within the same day.
